In a groundbreaking move, Spotify has sealed a multiyear deal, reportedly valuing “The Joe Rogan Experience” up to a whopping $250 million. Breaking its three-year exclusivity on Spotify, the popular podcast is also set to conquer new audio platforms.

The show is breaking free from exclusivity and expanding its reach to Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and YouTube. Under the fresh deal, Spotify will handle distribution and ad sales, aiming to amplify the show’s audience across platforms. Previously, Spotify’s exclusive 2020 deal locked in “The Joe Rogan Experience” for over $200 million, maintaining its top rank on the platform for three years.

Since its launch in 2009, the podcast has amassed over 2,000 episodes, featuring notable guests such as Miley Cyrus, Peter Attia, David Goggins, and Dave Chappelle.

And in a recent interview with Spotify, talking about his journey as a podcaster, Rogan recently shared his approach, initial hurdles, and thoughts on his show’s monumental success.

Rogan reveals initial struggles with podcasting

Ruling the podcast realm, the JRE consistently tops global popularity charts, and Joe Rogan, a pioneer in the realm of podcasting recently shared insights into his process. Acknowledging his initial shortcomings, Rogan stated, “I definitely sucked at it when I first started. I was curious, but I didn’t understand how to make a conversation flow.”

However, according to him, he learned to enhance the flow of conversation by knowing when to listen and being fully engaged in what the guests have to say. Rogan attributed his improvement to the extensive hours spent podcasting, learning through trial and error.
