In a JRE episode from 2023, Rogan and his guest Andrew Schultz talked about the time when the North Korean YouTuber and author, Yeonmi Park, appeared on their podcasts. But little did she know about the insider joke that Schultz and Rogan made around her. Talking about Park, sent the JRE host into a laughing fit. But then he revealed the origin of the weightlifting joke.

The UFC color commentator apologized and revealed the time he sent a text message to Schultz before Park appeared on the JRE. Rogan sent an image of the YouTuber, then a weightlifter, and then a weightlifting emoji. And Schultz branded it the ‘heavies’.

Needless to say, Schultz felt pretty bad about it. After all, Park was a survivor who escaped North Korea when she was just 13 and had a horrific story of how she came to the US. To put it out of his conscience, Schultz called Park up right before she was featured on his podcast, and revealed the true meaning of ‘heavies’.

Schultz recollected, “So I go, ‘Hey, I’m so grateful that you’re coming on. I just want you to know something. You’re inside on the joke here. I don’t want anything to be making fun of you. I just want you to be inside. Have you seen like people putting like the weight lift emoji underneath your Instagram?’ And she goes, so sweet, she goes, ‘Yeah, I thought that they thought I was getting fat.’ She thought that they were saying that she was fat the whole time!”

But laughter wasn’t the only emotion that Rogan shared in episode #1681 of the JRE, featuring Park. He also came forth with some advice for the YouTuber.

JRE Host sends advice in Yeonmi Park’s way

During the conversation with Park, Rogan quoted Jordan Peterson, a Canadian clinical psychologist and motivational speaker. He claimed that one should now be weak, docile, and pacifist. Instead, one should learn how to become a monster and control the monster. He further added that it was indeed better to be a warrior in a garden than be a gardener fighting in a war.

Rogan continued, “Because it doesn’t mean that you can’t be kind if you are strong. But it does mean you can’t be strong if you are weak. If you are weak, you are f**ked. And there’s a lot of weak people in the country right now that are trying to take control. And they are gathering all the other weak people.” It was indeed one of the greatest pieces of advice that the UFC color commentator has ever sent forth, don’t you agree?
