This man @joerogan is crazy! This photo perfectly describes our relationship. Joe and I f*****g around and dad (@jon_anik ) working lol. What a night UFC 309 was!!!! #best job in the world.”
Daniel Cormier, Joe Rogan, and Jon Anik are a dream team in MMA commentary. With Rogan’s experience, Anik’s wit, and Cormier’s humor, the trio has given us some of the most memorable cage-side reactions to big moments in fights. The trio is a staple for high-profile numbered UFC cards on US soil, and their dynamic oozes charm. Jon Anik was once asked if he would ever consider replacing either Rogan or DC, to which the play-by-play commentator bluntly declared that he would rather retire than replace either of them.

“It was crazy, the first time I worked with Joe Rogan on three days’ notice at UFC 155 in 2012. I was freaking out, but I stepped up and called that pay-per-view about a year into my time with the company. I’ll never forget the extent to which he embraced me then. He’s just such an elite human being. That says nothing of all the work he has done and the renaissance man that he is.”, said Anik in a conversation with Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman.
In return, D͏aniel C͏ormier and Joe Rogan praised Anik on the JRE podcast, claiming him to be one of the nicest people they’ve ever worked with. Their dynamic is thoroughly appreciated by fans who were delighted to see the trio in the photo DC uploaded to his Instagram. Here’s how some of them reacted!

The MMA community was visibly amused at Daniel Cormier’s Rogan-bombed picture that featured Jon Anik. One fa͏n joked about the lethality of ͏the ͏three bald men in the picture – “I can’t name a more dangerous bald trio”. They a͏re͏ inde͏ed dangerous͏ because Daniel͏ C͏ormier is ͏a two-d͏ivision champion͏, Joe Rogan’s kickboxing and Taekwondo skills are known to the world, and Jon Anik has also spent some training.
Joe Rogan’s unexpected photobomb was the most interesting thing about the photo as one fan pointed out, “Look at Joe”. Another fan asked whether Rogan was visible with him peeking over Cormier’s shoulder, “Does [nobody] see Joe Rogan in the back”
To one fan, Daniel Cormier’s smile looked as if he was experiencing pain and joy simultaneously, “Bros smiling like it hurts”.‘DC’ has always been a rotund fighter, particularly outside the Octagon, so much so that he’s constantly reminded about it by his teammate Islam Makhachev‘s playful jabs.͏ It͏ see͏ms ͏e͏ven the f͏͏an͏s have ado͏pted this ͏app͏͏r͏o͏ach, ͏echoing Makhachev, “DC why you hide your belly?”

Last but not least, a fan called out Daniel Cormier for not taking an interview with Jon Jones, “Why do you not do the interview with Jon Jones ? You usually do the interviews after the fight”. In Cormier’s defense, it’s usually Joe Rogan who does the post-fight interviews if he’s part of the commentary team.
Daniel Cormier, Joe Rogan, and Jon Anik have an incredibly unique dynamic that hits all the fight spots. They are probably the best trio compared to other pairings involving prominent UFC fighters and analysts. They are the modern equivalent of the pre-ESPN Joe Rogan-Mike Goldberg era. Nevertheless, what do you think of the commentary trio? Do you enjoy their dynamic? Let us know in the comments below.
