One of the reasons Joe Rogan‘s JRE podcast is the most successful in the world is because it exposes his audience’s thoughts and opinions on a variety of topics. Rogan is a great conversationalist and lets his guests speak on topics they have expertise in or are passionate about.

The UFC commentator also encourages his guests to speak freely and honestly, without fear of judgment or censorship. Rogan had the Philippou brothers, Danny and Michael, known for their horror-comedy videos on their YouTube channel, where he talked about why he thinks some adults should not be allowed to participate in medical trials.

The Philippou brothers were talking to Joe Rogan about their difficulties getting regular jobs. Danny recounted his experiences with medical trials. He recalled walking into hospitals to sign up for medical trials in order to earn money as young as 18. This led Joe Rogan to remark that eighteen-year-olds should not be able to make it. “Yeah you shouldn’t let 18-year-olds make that decision,” he said to Danny.

Joe Rogan has often repeated the fact that a human’s cerebral cortex doesn’t fully develop until about 25 years of age. This is the outermost part of the brain and is involved in a variety of functions such as memory, reasoning, thought, learning, and decision-making, among other things. The cerebral cortex is not fully developed in 18-year-olds, which might affect their decision-making and reasoning and might be why Rogan is against them participating in medical trials.

Joe Rogan put out a JRE Fight Companion for UFC 294 last week. The card featured the UFC debut of hyped Dagestani middleweight prospect Sharaputdin Magomedov. The Russian had ten knockouts in his eleven pro-MMA fights. And while ‘Sharabullet’ managed to win against Bruno Silva via a unanimous decision after three rounds, Rogan saw a hole in his game that could harm him going forward.

“[Sharaputdin] Magomedov taken down in the third, too. He’s gonna have a hard time with real wrestlers… He’s still on his back, look at this. I forgot he was on his back so much. I was watching some of the highlights. As a matter of fact, I think I left this fight before the third round. This dude is spending a lot of time in his back,” he told his guests.

Rogan noted the significant amount of time Magomedov spent on the ground. The Texas resident felt that this would be a dangerous strategy when the undefeated fighter would come across an opponent with good wrestling. What do you think about Rogan’s opinion?
