During the  ‘JRE MMA Show #156’, Rogan sat down with retired MMA veteran and instructor Royce Gracie to talk about his career and the future of MMA. Speaking about Gordon Ryan, Gracie claimed that the decorated BJJ star was “misunderstood” sometimes. He mentioned how ‘The King’ was constantly challenging himself and proving his prowess.

Even Rogan agreed to this as he heaped praise on the GOAT and said, “That guy works out 365 days a year there is no Christmas. Christmas, fu** you. Your birthday, fu** you. Every day they train.” Ryan is the first grappler in history to win gold in three divisions and holds the record for the fastest ADCC submission.

Further, Gracie complimented Ryan by mentioning, “I am not big in tournament, Gordon Ryan is awesome man.” He also narrated a story of them grappling once and said “We met up with a friend of ours Derek. We met up with him were teaching him in Chicago. And he is very respectful. Gordon Ryan came up and was like ‘Man can we roll a little bit?’ I am like sure let’s roll. It wasn’t too long ago it was less than a year ago. And the guy’s a beast man.”

Even Rogan agreed to this and mentioned how ‘The King’ was slow and smooth in the grappling video with Gracie, even when the BJJ star was capable of being stronger. Rogan mentioned, “Because he is so f**k strong but he does not use it. You know it’s just all technique and movement and understanding.”

Gordon Ryan has a resume that most of the fighters can only imagine at such a young age.  Interestingly, this is not the first time Joe Rogan complimented the 28-year-old who is a 5 time ADCC champion already.

Rogan praised Gordon Ryan’s work ethic

A New Jersy Native, ‘The King’ has already achieved two-time IBJJF No-Gi World champion and a four-time Eddie Bravo Invitational champion title. The stunning records of Gordon Ryan caught the attention of Joe Rogan last year as he hailed the now 28-year-old for his remarkable achievements.

While talking to Gillian Robertson in JRE MMA Show #140, Rogan mentioned how Ryan tends to keep himself busy 365 days a year. He mentioned“When you think about Gordon Ryan, no one doubts that he’s the best No-Gi grappler ever.” He also added, “But no one also doubts that he works 365 days a year. That’s an insane work schedule and these are insane results.”

Robertson pointed out that most black belt fighters tend to diminish their fierce workout or training at a certain point but this is not the case for Gordon Ryan. ‘The King’ never stops his hard work and training. Ryan’s allocates speak for himself and there is no doubt that he is one of if not the best grapplers in the industry.
