Is Joe Rogan's teenage rebellion phase a genius marketing move or just plain ridiculous?

The JRE podcast is an outlandish ride to its listeners, and well, the topics usually run wild from the depths of the seas beneath the Bermuda Triangle to the doors of the hanging garden of Babylon. So, it’s not a surprise for the fans if the conversation subtly brushes on the generational gap. When the Ukrainian-American author and podcaster, Michael Malice, who also identifies as an anarchist joined Joe Rogan in the latest episode things were about to get intense and it appears that the fit 56-year-old podcaster forgot about his own age when he referred to his parents as ‘boomers.’

So who are ‘boomers’? We have heard this term several times in the alleyways of the internet but what’s the actual behind this term? If we were to go by a definitive description then boomers are those people who took birth right after the post-World War II baby boom, approximately between 1946 and 1964. Well, in the modern era, this term has been used by the new generation to make fun of old people and Joe Rogan knowingly or unknowingly has used the same term for his parents.

How? Well, when Joe Rogan sat down with Michael Malice on #JRE 2182, the podcaster was asked a rather peculiar question by Malice, “I think a lot of people listening might think you are crazy.” Rogan was a bit perplexed when he heard what was coming out of Malice’s mouth. However, with an amazing laugh, Rogan said, “My parents. As regular people know. what if they did? They are boomers. you gotta keep Trump out of the white house.”

Interestingly, ahead of this conversation, Rogan dropped a banger as he announced, “Netflix special that’s live Saturday night from San Antonio. Oh, so it’s going to be live all over the world.”  Nevertheless, his statement about the ‘Boomer’ generation caught the attention of the fans.

Looking at the statement, a curious fan was intrigued to ask a rather funny question,“Is Joe going through an edgy teenage rebellious phase?” Well, it’s quite funny for Joe Rogan to call others a ‘Boomer’ considering that he himself is nearing 60. In addition even ‘PewDiePie’ called Rogan a new age ‘Boomer’ when the podcaster got the ire of the gaming world when he called gaming a “problem” and a “waste of time,” activity.  A social media user emphasized, “Joe calling anyone a boomer is the funniest thing he ever said.'”

There are times when Rogan invited such guests to his show that made the entire internet gaze a side eye upon the legitimacy of the podcaster. His episode with Terrance Howard was such a spectacle that the entire fanbase thought it to be a ‘Boomer’ confession. Interestingly, the damage persists according to a fan, “lol at Joe still not having the self awareness to acknowledge the he is the mega superpowered boomer king! “They’re boomers”

Furthermore, another fan asked about his parents, “I thought he doesn’t talk to his dad? The Podcaster never really had any fond memories of his father (Joseph Rogan) as he used to physically abuse him. Rogan grew up in an abusive household and considers it better for him to not talk about his past.  Last but not least, a fan just thinks that Rogan is weird, Nah, he’s just weird.”
