Volkan Oezdemir demonstrated why his nickname is ‘No Time’ as that’s how long it took for him to close out the show on Johnny Walker at UFC Saudi Arabia! The fight began with Walker’s usual display of athleticism and unorthodox technique and he appeared to be visibly larger than his opponent inside the Octagon.

However, the size difference didn’t help the Brazilian fighter much as he was finished in the first round by Oezdemir’s calm and composed striking skills. Joe Rogan, who was watching the fight live on the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) Fight Companion on YouTube, made an interesting observation about Walker’s knockout and may have given the Brazilian some much-needed advice for his career!

With a punch-dropping Walker, the Brazilian fighter attempted to regain his bearings but Oezdemir remained cool and collected as he managed to find the shot that shut out the lights for his opponent and the referee called a stop to the contest.

This knockout was Walker’s second consecutive loss that involved him getting finished, as such, Joe Rogan who was watching the fight from his JRE Studio exclaimed, “And the other thing is Johnny Walker probably sucks a lot of weight to get to 205, that definitely messes with your chin…”

While the replays were being shown, Rogan pointed out the brutality of the knockout as Walker’s eyes appeared to, “roll back in his head.” This led to the UFC color commentator pointing out Walker’s size in the light-heavyweight division as a probable cause for him getting repeatedly knocked out. Rogan revealed that, “…he’s 6’6, 205, how? Go to heavyweight, he might be a really good heavyweight and that is a shallow pool.”

The UFC color commentator’s advice to move up to heavyweight could be a pivotal point for Walker, offering him a chance to revive his career in a less crowded division, But it remains to be seen whether he takes the advice or continues in the light-heavyweight division. But what’s next for Volkan Oezdemir after this incredible performance?

‘No Time’ puts UFC light heavyweight Top 5 on notice in post-fight interview

The knockout of Johnny Walker marked Volkan Oezdemir’s first knockout victory inside the Octagon since his win over Ilir Latifi all the way back in 2019 at UFC Fight Night 156. Despite the emphatic victory, Oezdemir showed sportsmanship, refraining from celebrating until Walker was back on his stool.

During his post-fight interview, Oezdemir stated, “It feels great, ‘No Time’ is back. The uppercut was key with him. It’s a little bit crazy in the first two minutes.” The one-time light heavyweight title challenger then revealed his plans for the future as he stated, “My only direction is the top. The belt is my destiny. The next guy I want to fight might be Jamahal Hill or [Jan] Blachowicz.”
