So, what’s with all the gloves drama going around the UFC and what does Joe Rogan want to improve? Perhaps it all started at UFC Atlantic City when Chris Weidman secured a controversial victory over Bruno Silva and it got everyone in the MMA community talking about the UFC gear.

Now, Joe Rogan is certain that he needs to take steps of his own in order to help the promotion bring about a much-needed change in the gear. So, if the UFC brings out anti-eye poking gloves, will that significantly change things? Here’s what Rogan said.

Trevor Wittman is a famous UFC coach who is also behind the amazing Justin Gaethje. Wittman is a genius mind who also created fantastic MMA gear including his special gloves that help prevent eye pokes. Recently, this has been a hot topic because Weidman secured his win after poking Bruno Silva in both of his eyes in quick succession.

In a recent edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan sat down with MMA fighter Sean Brady. Brady was discussing how he used Whittman’s headgear and it tempted him to ask for the gloves too. And Rogan disclosed how the UFC messed up talks to get the gloves.

“I don’t know how it went wrong, but the UFC was talking to Trevor about, about his MMA gloves.” Rogan said. “He has absolutely superior MMA gloves. They’re the best. Yeah, no one even comes close. And when you make a fist with those, it actually it encourages a closed fist”

“. . .I should probably reinstitute these talks and try to get it going again. I really should. You know what? I’m gonna do that.” Clearly, Joe Rogan has his priorities set on this one. But perhaps the UFC is already ahead of him? Here’s an interesting update.

Joe Rogan has been a fan of Wittman’s gloves and for good reason. And perhaps, the UFC has finally caught up to the commentator. However, the question remains if the equipment set to be announced is actually new UFC gloves or something else.
