Joe Rogan is not only the color commentator of UFC but also a former martial artist and is a huge advocate of exercising and going to the gym. He advocates for exercise in his daily life and in his podcast where he has people from all walks of life. Mental health is very connected to physical health and, just like anybody else, even athletes go through mental health issues. This is the reason Joe Rogan also talks about depression in his podcast.
Not only has Rogan talked about it, but he also gave solutions in his podcast regarding the issue. Athletes like Michael Chandler have agreed to it and even Elon Musk recently agreed to the color commentator.

Recently the scientist and business Mogul shared a Twitter post where he uploaded a clip from JRE #2109 with journalist Abigail Shrier. The clip specifically spoke about the main reason why depression was enhanced in adults. According to the journalist, it was enhanced because people had a pattern of thinking about the problems in their lives doing that, to almost a pathological level. Even Rogan was pushed to agree with her after reading her book “Bad Therapy: Why the Kids Aren’t Growing Up.”
He said, “I never really considered that until your book. Till I read the title of your book and read the synopsis of it I never really considered it. I never considered that thinking about your problems all the time and talking about your problems all the time literally can make the problem grow.” According to her, this rumination could be stopped just by exercising or even running errands. Rogan agreed with her and said that exercise is the best solution.

It seems like Elon Musk also agreed to the same solution since he shared this clip on Twitter. This is not the first time that Joe Rogan has talked about mental health and the connection of exercise.

Michael Chandler inspired by Rogan’s method
Chandler is preparing for UFC 303 against Conor McGregor, and is practicing and training every day. In one such training video on Instagram, he put a voiceover of Joe Rogan, where the commentator was speaking about how some Australian researchers have found out that exercise is the number one solution to depression.

Rogan said, “University of South Australia researchers are calling for exercise to be a mainstay approach for managing Depression.” According to research, it has also been found that exercising is 1.5 times more effective than taking counseling and therapy for depression. The 56-year-old color commentator also believes that inactivity and rumination of negative thoughts are one of the biggest reasons for mental health problems.
Athletes like Michael Chandler and Joe Rogan are examples of how exercise can benefit not only in physical health, but also one’s mental health. Now even the millionaire business tycoon Elon Musk agrees to this. Do you also believe the same?
