Would you ever participate in something called the Power Slap ignoring the conventional kickboxing or UFC? Dana White’s Power Slap is going strong with its fair share of audience despite the controversy surrounding it. According to the UFC CEO, it has become a million-dollar business and he is in talks with broadcasters to make it more accessible to fans. Unfortunately, his close comrade and UFC color commentator Joe Rogan does not seem to be comfortable with the idea of this league and he has been strong in his decision from the time of its inception.

During his recent candid chat with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson on episode 159 of JRE, he tried to put himself in the shoes of a Power Slap competitor and clearly stated his feelings about this unique sport.

The duo got together after patching things up after the infamous misunderstanding and had a recent conversation in JRE. During this episode, they spoke about the color commentator’s past advice to ‘Rampage’ which the former UFC light heavyweight champion had taken poorly in the past.

Rogan had suggested that he should start throwing and checking his low kicks but unfortunately, it did not sit well with the fighter. However, as they were talking about kicks in episode 159 of the JRE MMA Show, Rogan pointed out that there was a new sport in town very similar to Power Slap where the opponents had to kick each other.

This is when Jackson asked him what he felt about the new sport hyped by Dana White where the opponents had to slap each other as hard as possible. Rogan straight up declared, “I wouldn’t do it.”

He was fine with others doing what they wanted and said, “I’m fully in support of anybody doing whatever the f* * k they want to do. I’m like if you could bull ride, if you could BMX jump and skateboard and all that crazy sh** where people break their necks. I feel like you should be able to do anything but I wouldn’t do it.”

Rogan confessed his critical stance over Power Slap

While speaking to his guest in episode 2097 he discussed the Power Slap League that has made headlines since its inception. Even though the visuals of the sport are pretty uncomfortable it has still gathered a lot of fan following on social media and several MMA fighters have wanted to participate in it. Meanwhile, others have criticized the sport, especially medical professionals, for the main reason of the safety of the athletes.

There have been incidents in the past where the athlete has been knocked out cold and has also suffered severe injuries. The former comedian and UFC color commentator spoke about the dire consequences of a strong slap if it contacted the wrong area of the face. He stated, “Like you have seen slap fighting. They get slapped unconscious. Just a slap. They are ready for it. They are like professional slappers. I watch those f…ng clips. I am one of those idiots. One of the dudes was like what are you going to do with the money. I will get my wife some new t…s.”

He clearly does not understand the hype around this sport even though UFC and Dana White are scaling new prospects with the venture. Instead, he felt that UFC should invest in kickboxing. Do you think his friend and the CEO might listen to his new idea about kickboxing and invest in it in the future?
