The assassination attempt on the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, had the entire world in utter disbelief. But the way the ex-POTUS came out with just a flesh wound to his ear was enough to extract a few reactions from Joe Rogan himself. However, the beloved UFC color commentator kind of fell into a trap of fake news while talking about the failed assassination attempt on Trump. It is quite rare for the 56-year-old podcaster to fall prey to fake news. And this was indeed one of those times. But what did he say? Let’s find out!

On episode #2176 of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan sat down with fellow stand-up comic and podcaster Chad Daniels. With news of Trump’s lucky escape from a sniper all around the internet, the duo couldn’t step away from a discussion. Needless to say, the JRE host was flabbergasted by the incident. He simply could not believe it and compared it to the famous Netflix series ‘Black Mirror’.

Rogan also talked about a piece of news that has been going on around on social media. He said, “And then Trump goes golfing with a bandage on his ear the next day.” Daniels pitched in and asked if Rogan knew what Trump said after making the putt. It was, “That’s the difference between me and the shooter. I don’t miss.” This extracted a bit of laughter from the UFC commentator. However, Jamie Vernon, the producer for JRE, revealed that it was a fake piece of news.

Vernon said, “I read that golf story, too. This is not the first time. There’s a lot of golf accounts that put out fake s***.” Rogan didn’t like it as he pointed out that Vernon was a golf player and got touchy when it came to the sport. But the JRE producer went on, “It just came from a Reddit post that people screenshotted. There was no pictures, no nothing else.”

Without a doubt, the last comment was that of Rogan, who remarked, “Touche, young troll. Touche.” The 56-year-old was pretty amazed at how Trump survived getting shot by a sniper. He seemed to think it was an extract from a movie.

During the conversation on the podcast set, Rogan seemed to think that the failed assassination attempt was proof that the world was in a simulation. It indeed felt like a script. Rogan was also amazed by the photographer, who doesn’t even duck to save himself, with bullets flying all around him. Notably, it was Evan Vucci, a Pulitzer Prize-winning chief photographer, who clicked the iconic shot of Trump.

Rogan said, “That’s nuts. So you could see as the bullets start flying, this dude doesn’t even duck. He’s still got his camera out, he’s right behind Trump and he’s just got his camera out, that is so gangster. I mean, you talk about getting a shot no matter what.” And as far as Trump goes, the JRE host said, “I mean the Trump story is right out of a movie, and I’m hoping it’s not a Stephen King movie.”

While Rogan felt the scene to be like a movie, Donald Trump received a lot of support from the UFC fighters following the assassination attempt. The likes of Conor McGregor, Dana White, and many others took to their respective social media accounts to offer their support to the ex-POTUS.
