On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan shared his strong dislike for zoos with co-host Brian Redban. Joe Rogan described a disturbing incident he heard about at a Swedish zoo called Furuvik. Over there, several chimpanzees broke out of their enclosure and were subsequently shot by zoo staff. The UFC commentator was unhappy with the incident and proceeded to share his thoughts about capturing animals.

Furthermore, the dead bodies remained on the floor over a day after the incident. As the staff had run out of tranquilizers and had to resort to killing the chimpanzees.

This shocking revelation sparked outrage and disgust in Rogan. In addition, he has long been a vocal critic of zoos and the exploitation of animals for entertainment. The UFC commentator went on to explain that he believes zoos are fundamentally wrong and do more harm than good.

Joe Rogan reveals why he hates zoo

He argues that they are essentially prisons for animals, who are often subjected to cramped, unnatural living conditions and forced to perform tricks for food.

He says, “The only one who gets out of the zoo that had that old bit about giraffes. They’re the only ones who seem to have a good day.”

“They’re like another day with no lions, they just don’t give a fu*k. They’re happy to be in the zoo. They have 0 problems with the zoo. No one’s trying to kill them,” he further added.

In many cases, these animals are taken from their natural habitats and away from their families. Subsequently, this causes immense stress and suffering.

Furthermore, zoos often present a distorted view of the animal kingdom. This gives people a false sense of understanding about the lives and behaviors of wild animals. It can lead to misconceptions and misunderstandings about conservation and the importance of preserving natural habitats.

Rogan describes a horrible zoo experience when he was 21 years old

The podcast host shared a heart-clenching story of his zoo visit when he was 21 years old. On his visit to a zoo in Massachusetts, he saw the terrible condition a polar bear was kept in.

He said, “It was horrible. There’s this polar bear, and he was in a room that was not much bigger than this fu*king studio, and he was just walking around in a circle just walking in circles, so like a crazy person.

I was like, oh no. It was just so sad,” he further added.
