Joe Rogan isn’t very happy with the way domestic violence was portrayed in age-old Hollywood at times. But then again, who would be? In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan podcast, the UFC color commentator sat down with fellow podcaster Chris Williamson to discuss a bunch of topics in standard JRE fashion.
Things took an interesting turn when Rogan spoke up about violence in general. The dark twist in the conversation was nothing new, much like the many scuttlebutts the podcaster often maintains on his show. This time, however, he wanted to address an old clip he had seen. Here’s more.
Joe Rogan sees the weakness in violence

Joe Rogan knows plenty about violence given his extensive background in MMA and as a promoter and color commentator within the UFC. So, his take on such things isn’t unexpected. In fact, many fans might consider his opinion highly valued.
So it shouldn’t be taken for granted when Rogan made a case against old Hollywood depictions of violence in films rather casually. He spoke of how the stronger shouldn’t bully the weak and how that is some of the worst behavior out there.
“As men, we have to look at that as the weakest of most disgusting behaviors,” he told his guest, Williamson, “including beating up on people that are weak.” After a moment, he brought up a clip from an old Hollywood film that he suspected starred Shirley Temple: “…it’s Shirley Temple, that’s what it is. The guy’s got someone’s daughter over his knee and he’s sp*nking her into submission. That means you love her, Shirley Temple says.”
However, Jamie, his friend on the computer behind the scenes would soon go on to confirm that the film probably did not have Temple associated with it at all and that the actress could have been someone else. Either way, Rogan’s point stands true. But there have been times when his words didn’t find favor with the fans.

Joe Rogan has been accused of biased commentary during live UFC fights. In more recent history, Mackenzie Dern expressed how Rogan’s comments during her Jessica Andrade fight broke her spirit and embarrassed her. So what was it that he said?

According to Dern, Rogan’s remark about her looking like a “high-school girl brawling” during the fight upset her to the greatest extent. She told Morning Kombat that such remarks from someone in Rogan’s position can be pretty influential.
