The United States is gearing up for the 2024 Presidential elections and consequently, several politically charged issues have taken over mainstream media. Meanwhile, Joe Rogan has added another seemingly alarming issue to the list. The UFC commentator had a chat in the most recent JRE podcast with former CIA officer Mike Baker, during which he uncovered some shocking IQ stats.

The decline in the cognitive capabilities of the American population is nothing short of a serious matter. According to a study conducted by a few researchers from Northwestern University and the University of Oregon, where UFC legend Chael Sonnen spent some time studying, there was a significant increase in the IQ levels of the nation in the last 100 years. However, they also reported that now, the levels could be diminishing fast, and Joe Rogan has had a peek at the statistical data surrounding it.

While discussing the state of the American IQ levels, Joe Rogan expressed being disappointed by most of the people in the United States. The fact that they were talking about a hip-hop rivalry between two distinct rappers and not focusing on the important global, social, and economic issues, the 56-year-old felt disgruntled to learn about such developments.

“Now, we’re really f***ed because there are just too many people that are concerned with Drake and Kendrick Lamar and don’t even know what’s going on in Gaza,” he stated on the #2147 episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’. The JRE host would also reveal that he once looked into the IQ stats out of curiosity on the web and found out that 84 was the average IQ level in the country.

“We have a lot of 84 IQers out there bouncing around, walking into traffic… I think 15% of the [American] population is 84 and below.” Joe Rogan then asked his producer Jamie Vernon to put up the data on the big screen and read out the statistics of all the demographics. “0.1% is 55 and below? F*. 2% of the population is 70, Jesus! Between 55 and 70, [it’s] 2% of the population. And then, 14% of the population is 85.”

Thereafter, Joe Rogan talked about his own IQ level and which group he would belong to, which he claimed to be between the 115-130 area. “Most people are between 85 and 115 and me, I’m in that sweet zone between 115 and 130,” Joe Rogan added. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old was once surprised by the result when he paid online to check his IQ level.

Back in 2019, Joe Rogan took the chance to put himself to the test. He went online and decided to take a test to check his IQ levels. It was a Brain Metrics Certified test that attempted to find out the general IQ. After Rogan completed the test, he scored a whopping 127. This is why he told Mike Baker, as we’ve mentioned already, that he belongs in the 115-130 category. But at the time when Rogan got his test results, he was pleasantly surprised, to say the least.

“I legitimately thought I was dumber,” Joe Rogan captioned a post with the snap of his IQ test result. On a lighter note, this result certainly gives a lot more legitimacy to the vivid and often intense discussions the 56-year-old has with a myriad of guests on his multi-million-dollar podcast.

Researchers have found that the decline in IQ levels could be due to a variety of factors. But what do you think could be the reason that has affected the cognitive abilities of the American population?
