On JRE #1822 Joe Rogan talked about how humans have always feared snakes, to which DiStefano replied by saying that although snakes didn’t scare him, the dark did.
Rogan then explained how everybody should be scared of the dark. He said, “If you follow primate history, all of our ancestors who go way, way back, they’re all eaten by cats. You know, cats operate nocturnally. Our eyes s*ck at night. And that’s why we had to hide at night. You know, and that’s probably one of the main reasons people developed shelters to avoid predators.”

Rogan supported his statement by giving an example of why children are scared of monsters. He mentioned the fact that children didn’t fear things like car accidents, but rather feared “things with big teeth.”
Rogan then reasoned out that this was “because there’s an ingrained fear of cats.” Rogan also clarified that he wasn’t referring to regular house cats and was talking about non-domesticated cats, such as jaguars and leopards. With these statements, he concluded that our history has played a big role in our behavior today.
