UFC color commentator Joe Rogan hosts the globally popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan’s podcast originally started on YouTube. However, the color commentator later signed a licensing deal with Spotify. While times were good for Rogan, he did indulge in a few controversies because of some of his comments.

Due to this, people on the internet kept pressurizing Spotify to cancel Rogan’s deal. However, Spotify backed the veteran color commentator. Recently, in episode #1843 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan was in conversation with fellow stand-up comedian Paul Virzi. During the episode, the 54-year-old credited Spotify for standing behind him.

The color commentator said, “People love to pile on people and they love to try to get people fired. It’s like a new sport. When people talk about cancel culture isn’t real or cancel culture is real… But what is real is that people especially with the advent of social media because everybody has a point…”

To Spotify’s credit, one of the brilliant things they did was nothing. They just said, ‘you know we’re not going to censor rappers. We’re not going to stop them from saying what they want to say. We’re not going to stop Joe, either. This is what he does, this is what he’s always done.’ “

Joe Rogan’s deal with Spotify has arguably made him one of the greatest podcast hosts. Rogan has further solidified his place in the hearts of his listeners.

Joe Rogan launched his podcast in December 2009. Since then, the UFC color commentator has seen tremendous growth. Through his regular episodes, Rogan built a loyal fanbase.

The color commentator further tasted success when he signed a licensing deal for his podcast with Spotify. Rogan announced this move on Twitter. He said, “Announcement: the podcast is moving to spotify! Starting on September 1 the podcast will be available on Spotify as well as all platforms, and then at the end of the year it will move exclusively to Spotify,…

While the deal’s financials weren’t revealed, The Wall Street Journal reported Rogan would receive over $100 million. However, it was later reported that Rogan was reportedly paid $200 million for a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Since its move to Spotify, Joe Rogan and his podcast have received more success. The podcast continues to host several prominent guests and receives the love of people around the world.
