Joe Rogan stands today as the epitome of success in new-age media. From his role as a UFC commentator to being a comedian and television host, he has built an empire that includes the hugely successful podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, now celebrating 15 years of triumph. In his latest podcast episode #2235, Joe Rogan, accompanied by TV host Mike Rowe, discussed many touching topics, ranging from life struggles to UFC fighter Sean Strickland’s “weird yet effective” fighting style. They began their conversation by talking about the challenges of working overnight. Rogan then shared his own experience, recalling the time when he worked as a paperboy.
“I have kind of an experience with overnight work,” Rogan revealed, “but it’s not the same. I delivered newspapers, and so at least one day a week—on Sunday—I would show up Saturday night at 3:00 in the morning. Right? Because I would deliver Sunday papers. And the Sunday papers were a huge undertaking. I was all f-cked up from that.”
Joe Rogan’s childhood was far from stable. He grew up surrounded by a lot of toxicity in his family, enduring an unstable environment where his biological father was an enabler of domestic violence, something the Newark native has admitted to in the past. His parents’ marriage eventually fell apart, leading to their divorce when Rogan was just 5 years old.
Despite these challenges, Joe Rogan found crucial support from his stepfather and grandparents, whose encouragement played a pivotal role in helping him move forward. Their backing guided him toward his true calling—comedy, which he considers his big break. However, it wasn’t until years later that Rogan received his biggest payday. But what was that job all about? What was the deal behind it?
