The alleged drone sightings above in New Jersey have alarmed many, including, of course, Joe Rogan. Over the past month or so, the internet has been abuzz with reports of large drones being sighted above military and other sensitive installations initially and spread out in the following days, giving rise to many theories about them. And Rogan fears it may be the US government looking for nuclear warheads.

Based upon what evidence is the UFC commentator saying that you ask? Well, one video from the CEO of a drone company, which Rogan retweeted from his official X account. In the video, the CEO John Ferguson claims that the drones are searching for nuclear warheads which may have been lost by the US government. And what does the CEO base this theory on? Well, nothing really, except his claims that he talked to government officials about it. In fact, Rogan’s post got Community Noted on X, and the JRE host explained why on his recent podcast episode with Tim Dillon.

“It might simply be that whatever this is is so big that they can’t talk about it publicly, they can’t share with Congress. That’s what gets scary. And that’s the nuke one. Now from what I understand, someone put Community Notes on the video that I reposted. So I reposted a video of this guy, who’s a front manufacturer and he was saying that these drones could be trying to sniff out a nuclear warhead and that there was a nuclear warhead that was missing. But then someone in Community Notes said, I think, about that video being part of a misinformation campaign,” Rogan said.

“The disinformation or misinformation was in regard to the nuclear warheads that had not been recovered. And I think what the Community Notes was saying was that all the warheads from when Ukraine got disarmed are accounted for,” he added. Of course, there are other theories about what these alleged drones are and what their purpose is, some of which are more credible than others.

Other theories about the alleged drone sightings that have alarmed Joe Rogan

The other theories about these alleged drone sightings are that it may be the work of a hostile foreign government like Iran or China, the US government testing out new technology, to the presence of extra-terrestrials. The US government, through the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, has told the public that these alleged drones pose no threat to national security.

What’s your perspective on:

Are these drone sightings a real threat, or just another conspiracy theory blown out of proportion?

Have an interesting take?

There is also some excellent work done by Miriam McNabb on ‘Dronelife.com’ which has poured cold water on the conspiracy theories surrounding these alleged drones. McNabb examined the videos that showed the presence of these drones and concluded that these are either manned aircraft, small drones that the public has access to or even celestial objects like Jupiter.

“Despite widespread claims, the evidence simply doesn’t support the existence of large drones in our night skies. What we are witnessing instead is a combination of misidentification, media amplification, and a sociological phenomenon [called Mass Sociogenic Technophobia],” McNabb wrote. What do you think about Rogan’s tweet about the alleged drone sightings over New Jersey?
