Joe Rogan is a pretty famous personality, mostly due to his ties with the UFC. But that’s not the end of his fan base, because a bunch of them know him for his podcast and his stand-up comedy gigs as well. Recently, a former guest who appeared on the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ decided to promote the 56-year-old’s recent comedy special. What happened next made Rogan call out the Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
Joe Rogan has released a plethora of comedy specials ever since he began his stand-up career. Meanwhile, former JRE guest, Cameron Hanes, seemed particularly excited about his recent special ‘Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats’, streaming on Netflix. He even posted about this show on Instagram, urging his followers to have a watch as well. But something unexpected happened.
Apparently, the video Cameron Hanes shared got flagged on Instagram due to some kind of breach of the community guidelines. Is a Netflix special getting flagged on a social media platform? Hanes felt this to be unusual and, in frustration, he sent a message to Mark Zuckerberg and the platform in general.

“So a post about [Joe Rogan’s] comedy special gets me suppressed? [Mark Zuckerberg] shouldn’t all bowhunters stick together? How could this possibly go against community guidelines? IG who are you ‘protecting’?” Cameron Hanes posted this on his Instagram stories as Joe Rogan quickly got word of this situation and decided to make a move as well.

Joe Rogan calls out Mark Zuckerberg for flagging his stand-up special
The 56-year-old UFC commentator shared Cameron Hanes’s post on his Instagram stories, without adding any words. He had to call out Mark Zuckerberg. Why? Because these instances have taken place many times, and even Joe Rogan pointed this out back in 2023. While promoting a ‘JRE MMA Show’ outside featuring former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy, he mentioned how the fighter got “shadow banned” on Instagram.
“If you try to follow him [Tim Kennedy] see if it gives you a warning that he often posts inaccurate or misleading information (he doesn’t). In fact many of the things he’s been warned about and had to delete under the threat of his account being banned are now established mainstream fact,” stated Joe Rogan. Shadow bans are not only present on Instagram but on most platforms across the Metaverse.
