This was first reported as a medical-related issue, but later, Biles revealed that she had pulled out due to her struggle with mental health.

Joe Rogan reacted to the backlash received by Biles, and it is safe to say that he wasn’t a fan of it. He pointed out that Biles regularly took ADHD medication throughout her life but wasn’t allowed to take any for the Japan Olympics in 2020.

Rogan said, “So many people are sh**ting on her online and calling her a coward. It’s disgusting. You have no idea what’s going on in her head. She’s she supposed to play when she’s suicidal? Is she supposed to play when she’s freaking out? Is she supposed to do gymnastics when she’s literally losing her mind?”

Rogan also explained how clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson had difficulty getting off prescription drugs. He added, “I mean, I don’t know what it’s like to get off Ritalin, but I would imagine it’s not fun.” the veteran UFC commentator then talked about how Biles won four gold medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics as she was allowed to take her medication as a therapeutic use exemption.

He described the whole situation as “complicated” and said that Biles wasn’t a “chicken” but one of the greatest competitors. Rogan also mentioned that her lack of focus due to not taking any medication likely impacted her decision.
