Joe Rogan thinks Will Smith should have acted differently after the slap

Speaking to Bert Kreischer on episode #1954 of JRE, Rogan said, “The sh*t about Will Smith was ruthless. Ruthless.” He continued, “It’s just like, imagine, you know, in life, you play chess. You move pieces around you say ‘I do this, and the counter would be that.'”

He further added “Imagine the thought, like ‘I’m just gonna slap Chris Rock, one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time. It’s not like he’s gonna tear my very vulnerable life apart after I smack him, with some of the best comedy that anybody has ever written.'”

Rogan also mentioned how the public loved Smith before that “terrible, unprovoked attack.” Further, he mentioned how Smith should have handled himself after the slap. In Rogan’s opinion, that was what mattered the most and earned him the most notoriety.

He said, “Those two- “Keep my wife’s name out [of] your f***ing mouth”- those two are what sunk him. If he just slapped Chris Rock and then sat down and didn’t say anything, they wouldn’t know what to do. It would kind of drift off and people would forget about it. They would think and they would say to Chris, “Is that on purpose? Did you guys plan that?”

Rogan has repeatedly condemned Smith’s actions. He also went after the Hollywood elites, who applauded Smith the same evening after his Best Actor achievement. The 55-year-old also stated that the incident fueled Rock’s resurgence on the comedy scene.
