The Joe Rogan Experience secured the spot of the number one podcast on Spotify for 2022. Exclusive to Spotify, The Joe Rogan Experience became the most popular podcast globally and in the US for the second year in a row. The former Fear factor host beat Alex Cooper and Emma Chamberlain to secure the spot of the world’s leading podcast host of 2022.
Rogan launched the successful podcast in 2009. Over twelve and a half year period, he has recorded upwards of two thousand episodes. This includes JRE, JRE MMA Shows, Fight Companions, and some other segments.
On average, the 55-year-old releases three to four JRE episodes per week. He released the highest number of episodes in 2019, with 221 episodes.
Recently, Meghan Markle and her ‘Archetype’ podcast replaced Rogan’s no.1 spot. JRE also lost its spot to certain other podcasts in 2022 on a number of occasions.
When JRE lost its no.1 spot
Back in August 2022, Meghan Markle’s ‘Archetype’ podcast topped the Spotify charts, knocking The Joe Rogan Experience off its spot. Markle’s podcast topped the chart in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. ‘Archetype’s debut guest was tennis icon, Serena Williams. However, JRE took back the no.1 spot in the coming months.
JRE also lost the no.1 spot to Alex Cooper’s ‘Call Her Daddy.’ After the Season 2 premiere featuring Hailey Bieber, ‘Call Her Daddy’ took the coveted no.1 spot on Spotify charts, dethroning JRE. Similar to ‘Archetype,’ ‘Call Her Daddy; also took the no.1 spot in English-speaking countries like the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
