Dana White appeared on Paddy Pimblett’s podcast where he was asked to describe Jiri Prochazka’s condition.
The full story:
Jiri ‘BJP’ Prochazka was reportedly training for a rematch with Glover Teixeira when the shoulder injury happened. One would think that it is his brilliant luck that he was in his own gym when the injury happened. However, that’s not the case.
As Dana White explains, “What happened was it popped out and he had some guys there at the gym [try to put it back in socket] and it f****** ripped the s*** out of it and destroyed his shoulder.”

Even though the champion has now recovered a bit from the injury; White has reportedly mentioned on the podcast that the doctor was shocked after seeing the injury. “In all the years of the UFC, this is the worst shoulder injury we’ve ever seen,” White added.
Of course, the ‘BJP’ is called so for a reason. He told the doctor that he’ll be ready to fight within 5 months. That’s when the doctor asked him to be “realistic” about things.
The consequence:
The beloved UFC champion was at his regular training when his career was put at stake by the decisions of fate. Considering the severity of the injury; it was clear that the champion was in no position to fight his upcoming title-defense match. Even though Prochazka had the option to hold his title for the light-heavyweight category until he was fully recovered to defend it, he decided to leave it vacant.

This vacant title led to Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev scheduling a title fight in the UFC 282 that is going to take place soon. Although fans are upset right now with the fact that Prochazka won’t be returning anytime soon; what they are overlooking is that he is having a speedy recovery. He still may not be able to fight for a few more months, but let’s not lose hope and pray for the champion to get better soon.
