Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill share strikingly similar paths in their UFC careers. Both fighters claimed the light heavyweight title by defeating Glover Teixeira, only to later vacate their belts due to injuries. Adding to the parallels, both suffered knockout losses at the hands of Alex Pereira. However, it is also true that the duo exhibits concussive power in their fists and can dig in deep in a scrap.
Despite their mirrored journeys, the two have yet to cross paths in the Octagon. However, this would change as they are finally slated to compete at UFC 311 later this month. So who do you think will win? It seems a veteran UFC star has already picked his favorite.

As 2025 approaches, fans are already buzzing with excitement over several major fights announced by Dana White for the first pay-per-view of the year. Among the most anticipated matchups is a showdown between former light heavyweight champions Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka. Moreover, the fight is expected to serve as a potential number-one contender’s bout.
Both fighters are walking into the fight low on confidence after facing a knockout loss against the division kingpin, Alex Pereira. However, with the stakes so high for the clash they will look to put their best foot forward. ‘Sweet Dreams’ has recently faced a lot of criticism for his beef with the Brazilian fighter. However, one just cannot look past the skill sets that the former champion possesses. UFC fighter Kevin Holland has always been a fan of Hill and feels he will win his fight at UFC 311.
He sat down for a chat with Mike Perry on his ‘Overdogs’ podcast and shared his honest opinion on the fight. He said, “Come on bro you already know who I’m going with. Jamahal Hill that’s my brother. When you look at the way people fight and stuff like that, it’s like people act like I don’t know why they give Jamahal such a tough time. He lost to Alex Pereira probably the number one pound for pound right now. Then he lost to Paul Craig probably a fluke. He’s [Craig] known for taking away the O’s.”

Holland was referring to Paul Craig’s unusual knack for handing opponents their maiden career losses. This was pretty much the case when ‘Bearjew’ shocked the world and dented Hill and Magomed Ankalaev’s undefeated records. Despite this, Holland firmly believes that Hill would get the job done later this month.
‘Sweet Dreams’ was recently involved in a clash with Alex Pereira at the UFC PI which caught the attention of the fans. His next rival Jiri Prochazka also took note of it. On most occasions, the Czech warrior doesn’t quite get involved in such kinds of things. However, this time he took the time to share his opinion on the whole.

Jiri Prochazka blames Jamahal Hill for his altercation with Alex Pereira
Tensions are still running high between reigning light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira and former champion Jamahal Hill. The pair was recently involved in a heated altercation at the UFC Performance Institute that set the MMA community abuzz. There’s clearly no love lost between the two, and their rivalry continues to grab the attention of fans. Footage of the altercation showed Jamahal Hill aggressively approaching the Brazilian while training.
In response, ‘Poatan’ tossed a pair of gloves at the former champion, challenging him to step into the cage and settle their differences. However, Hill chose not to take up the challenge and instead resorted to trading verbal jabs with the reigning champion. After watching the incident, Prochazka appeared unimpressed with Hill’s actions.

Prochazka criticized Hill for missing the opportunity to settle the dispute by stepping into the cage. Instead, Hill chose not to engage, leading Prochazka to label him as “not a warrior” and express his support for Pereira. Speaking to MMA Fighting, Prochazka said, “If he really wanted to fight Alex and kept talking to him, he should have gone into the cage, but he didn’t. It’s nonsense. Some of these guys act like warriors, but they’re not. That’s it.”
