Joe Rogan’s podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience may be a massive success with 14.5 million followers on Spotify, but Jerry Seinfeld isn’t one of them! The legendary stand-up comedian and star of the classic sitcom, ‘Seinfeld’ was a guest on Bill Maher’s ‘Club Random’ podcast on YouTube where he indicated that he isn’t necessarily a fan of Joe Rogan.

During the conversation with Maher, Seinfeld exclaimed, “When you would go on Larry King, that was always so great, it was great, that show, don’t you think there’s a hole for that show?”. This led to Maher responding by stating, “I think it’s Joe Rogan, I think Joe Rogan… What, you just put your hands up like…”

Further along in the conversation, Seinfeld explained that he was a huge fan of Larry King’s show on TV as he found the guests to be fascinating. But Maher put forth the idea that there are more similarities between King and Rogan than Seinfeld may have realized as both men are renowned for their unfiltered interviews with guests from all walks of life and the unscripted, improvisational nature of their shows.

However, according to Seinfeld, Rogan’s 3-hour long podcasts are much different than King’s slot on television and that isn’t what he is looking for. But the fans weren’t happy with the legendary comedian’s assertions about the JRE as they took to the comment section to make their thoughts known about the conversation. Here’s a look at what the netizens had to say.

Jerry Seinfeld finds himself in hot water with the fans as they rally behind Joe Rogan

Fans pointed out that Seinfeld has never hosted Joe Rogan as a guest on his show, ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ which has featured other names like Ricky Gervais, Bill Burr, and Sebastian Maniscalco, amongst many others. Even though Rogan is an avid appreciator of classic cars, and coffee and is now the owner of his very own comedy club!

“Ever notice that Joe Rogan, who’s a comedian, car collector and coffee drinker, has never been on Jerry’s car show?”

Others bluntly stated that the clip comes off as Seinfeld not liking Rogan.

“Jerry really dislikes Rogan”

While some fans pointed out that Seinfeld appears to be having a hard time even acknowledging Joe Rogan and his show’s success.

“Lmao. Jerry can’t even ACKNOWLEDGE Joe Rogan”

Fans also pointed out that rumors in the comedy circles hint that Seinfeld isn’t a fan of Rogan’s comedy and that may be a reason behind the lack of acknowledgement of Rogan’s role as the Larry King of the modern era.

“I love how Jerry just dismisses Rogan being the next Larry King. It’s known in the comedy circles that Jerry thinks Rogen is an atrocious comic.”

One fan even pointed out that Seinfeld is possibly “stuck” in the past when television was the primary source of entertainment and podcasts/streaming shows hadn’t reached the point they have in 2024.

“Seinfeld is stuck in the past.”

The idea that each generation is uncomfortable with the change that happens around them was also brought up by one fan who poignantly claimed, “Change is inevitable.”

“Every generation comments on the changing of the guard and how things aren’t like they were back in their day. Change is inevitable.”

Another fan once again re-iterated the fact that television as a medium has been surpassed by the internet and other services and as such, Seinfeld is completely “out of touch” in his opinions about the JRE.

“TV is dead. Jerry is out of touch”

Ultimately, Seinfeld’s comments sparked introspection among fans and underscored the ongoing dialogue surrounding the future of content consumption in the digital age. While Seinfeld’s remarks may reflect a sense of nostalgia for the bygone era of television dominance, others argued that his views appear out of touch with the contemporary media landscape, where internet-based platforms have surged ahead as evidenced by the JRE’s monumental success.
