This weekend’s UFC Fight Night 184 has some significant changes yet again. A featherweight contest between promotional newcomer Denys Bonder and Ode Osbourne was supposed to take place. However, it is Jerome Rivera who will face Osbourne this weekend at 145 lbs.
Bonder has pulled out from the scheduled bout because of some unknown reason. Rivera and Osbourne were set to clash initially on January 20th in Fight Island. But, ‘The Oddity’ Osbourne pulled out last month due to undisclosed reasons as well. Interestingly, the new pairing was scheduled for a flyweight bout last month. This time they will fight, two weight classes above, at featherweight.

Rivera is a Dana White’s Contender Series alumni. He fought flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo’s brother, Franciso Figueiredo, last month and lost by decision. Previously, he was stopped by Tyson Nam in his UFC debut.
‘The Renegade’ Rivera is still searching for his first triumph inside the Octagon. He has also fought Brandon Royval under the LFA promotion and has lost by TKO due to an arm injury. The submission artist will be determined to turn the tide in his favor this time.
Osbourne, yet another alumnus of Dana White’s Contender Series, made his UFC debut at UFC 246 against Brian Kelleher and lost by submission. Akin to Rivera, he too is looking to get his hand raised in the Octagon.
It will be interesting, as both the fighters will be competing against each other in a much higher weight class than their usual at 145 lbs.
