Jared Gordon is a BJJ black belt who looks to ascend to the next level through his fight against Paddy Pimblett. According to Gordon, their fight is the main event at UFC 282. He’s not exactly wrong, as fans of combat sports can’t pick a winner among the contenders. However, ‘The Baddy’ is a natural crowd-pleaser. Pimblett’s charisma does offer him an advantage among fans, as admitted by Gordon. He even compared it to the battle between Jorge Masvidal and Darren Till at UFC Fight Night 147. Because Till was the fan favorite. But Masvidal came out on top to become a global sensation like Conor McGregor.

Is Gordon set to become UFC’s next Conor McGregor from this fight?
Jared Gordon wants to be the next big thing in the UFC
Jared Gordon wants to defeat Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282 and become the next Conor McGregor of UFC. Gordon admits that he isn’t as charismatic as his opponent. But he makes up for it with his brutal technique inside the Octagon. However, Gordon has much to prove ahead of his big game against Pimblett.
In a presser ahead of their fight, Gordon stated, “Yeah, I mean, I gotta go in there and do what I gotta do….” and compared his fight with an old match-up.
“you know perfect example right uh… (Jorge) Masvidal vs Darren Till”.
The fighter compared himself to the underdog of the fight. ‘Gamebred’ ascended to become a global brand after he defeated Till. The whole UFC world, including UFC president Dana White, heralded Masvidal as the next big thing, and Gordon hopes to achieve something similar.
