Jared Cannonier is all set to impress the world of mixed martial arts with his upcoming bout against Nassourdine Imavov at the main event of UFC Louisville, on 8th June 2024. ‘The Killa Gorilla’ is currently on a 2-fight winning streak with his last victories against Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori, both of which came via decision. He boasts a record of 17-6-0 and is definitely looking forward to add one more win to further his streak. Imavov, on the other hand, is fresh off a win against Roman Dolidze via majority decision. Needless to say, the Frenchman is also on the lookout for a victory.

Cannonier has been fighting in the Octagon since 2015. Without a doubt, he is under contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and receives a salary. For his upcoming bout against the French mixed martial artist, Cannonier is set to receive a base salary of $80 thousand. However, that’s not the whole amount that he would pocket.

Previously, in his fight against Strickland, ‘The Killa Gorilla’ took home about $520,000. The amount included a base pay of $400,000 and a win bonus of $100,000. To add to that, he also received $20,000 via sponsorships. It is indeed impressive, given the fighting community’s accusations of low fighter pay to UFC fighters. But in his last match, against Vettori, Cannonier hiked his pay with another bonus.

At UFC Fight Night 226, Cannonier fought and defeated Vettori in the main event. Then, he received a win bonus of $100,000. He was reportedly paid $250,000 just to show up for the fight. In addition to that, the fight between Cannonier and Vettori was announced to be the Fight of the Night, and both of the fighters received a bonus of $50,000. Summing up all of the above, ‘The Killa Gorilla’ would have received a payout of more than $400,000.
