Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has broken his silence on the charges of domestic assault filed against him. Hill was arrested and booked on one count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence for allegedly assaulting his brother at their Michigan home, which inflicted “serious or aggravated injury upon him.”

Hill will be required to go back to court in January to defend himself against these charges. Recently, the 32-year-old spoke to his fans about this case and the legal trouble he finds himself in.

Jamahal Hill clarified that because the matter was sub judice, he had been advised to not speak about it by his lawyers. The former champion seemed confident of winning the case and said that he looked forward to the court proceedings.

“It’s been a lot of reports out today with the situation that happened when I was back home in Michigan… I will just say this: at this time it is an open case. I’ve been advised
not to speak on it… I just can’t wait for the truth to be told in court, and I will wait for that day and I look forward to that day,” he said in the video. Hill’s lawyers have come out with a statement, insisting their client was innocent and termed the allegations as false and stated that they will speak about the affair only after the case was over.
