Jamahal Hill and Johnny Walker headlined the UFC Vegas 48 fight card as the original main event between Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev was postponed to UFC 272. It was an enormous opportunity for both light heavyweights, but it was Hill who cashed in.

‘Sweet Dreams’ literally put his Dublin-based opponent, Walker, to sleep with a powerful right hand in the first round of their bout. The light-heavyweight clash between the #10 and #12 ranked fighters gave UFC fans the first main event knockout of the year. And fight fans were more than happy with the display.

UFC fans reacted to the ‘Big-time KO’:

“Wooooooooooow @JamahalH is gonna be a champion he got power power,” welterweight contender Belal ‘Remember The Name’ Muhammad congratulated Hill.

“LeBron James when an opposing player makes slight physical contact:” a fan hilariously brought ‘King’ James into the conversation.

“Right hand cemetery. Jamahal Hill just knocked out Johnny Walker real, real hard. #UFCVegas48,” Damon Martin wrote.

“I’m telling you. Jamahal Hill is a future UFC champion. #UFCVegas48,” a podcast host was definite.

“That’s a big-time KO for Jamahal Hill. Sweet dreams put Johnny Walker to sleep in the first,” UFC analyst Ariel Helwani tweeted.

As Hill has surely cemented his name as one of the best in the UFC light heavyweight division, there’s only one thing that is left to question. What next?

What’s next for Jamahal Hill?

With his signature knockout display, that too, twice in a row, ‘Sweet Dreams’ has put his name together with other knockout artists of the UFC. Hill successfully stopped Jimmy Crute in the first round last December and now replicated the same with Walker in February 2022.

The current #12 will definitely break into the top 10 after this win. Hence, a fight with any of the contenders ranked 7-10 might make sense for Hill.

With Nikita Krylov set to fight Paul Craig at UFC London, Volkan Oezdemir is the only one that makes sense for ‘Sweet Dreams’.
