Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill took to his YouTube channel to address the elephant in the room after his fight announcement against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 303. The 32-year-old seems to have a good reason for taking the fight against “The War Horse”. Un a video on his YouTube channel, Hill addressed why he took a fight this early on after his loss against “Poatan”.

He stated, “He’s a good fight. He’s on the hottest streak in the division at this point. He’s on a 5 fight-win streak. Ready, hungry, he’s been calling for a shot at the top. Now he just unfortunate. He gets the top dog in the division and I’m gonna show him what the top of this division is really about. Because regardless of what anybody may say, I am at the top of this division.”

Though the quick turnaround might be something that Hill has thought through, fight fans seem skeptical of how the former champ will perform after such a devastating and viral KO loss. Many fighters were impressed with Alex Pereira’s KO and even more found his celebration entertaining. However, there was one fighter who did not seem to enjoy it as much as others.

UFC middleweight claims to not be impressed with Alex Pereira’s KO win celebration

Former UFC middleweight champ, Robert Whittaker is one of the most likable and positive personalities in the promotion. This is why it was weird to see “The Reaper” criticizing Pereira’s celebration on his recap of the UFC 300 event on the “MMArcade Podcast”. Given Hill’s cold persona, he found Pereira’s meme celebration “cringe”.

During the podcast episode, Whittaker stated, “The most disappointing thing of his fight was his cringey celebration… I knew it was meme-related. It’s still cringey as hell. He’s this cool Aztec warrior right? With face paint, screaming, bow and arrow, knocking dudes out left, right and center. Then he does a little child’s meme on the end. Come on, dude.”
