Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have already shocked the world when they decided to drop the news of their fight on the 20th of July which will be streamed on Netflix. Ever since the announcement of their fight, Jake Paul has not left any stone unturned to start a banter with the boxing star. However, the YouTuber-turned-boxer might be forgetting that he’s encountering one of the most ferocious fighters in history. Mike Tyson might be 57  years old but he’s not a man to be messed with. However, previously Tyson has appreciated the contribution that Jake Paul is bringing to the boxing industry. Even Joe Rogan had talked about Jake Paul’s prowess one year ago.

Paul’s defiance had Rogan convinced of the potential that the YouTuber turn-fighter possessed. He even spoke about how Eddie Hearn was pretty intimidated by Paul. Let’s see what the podcaster and former boxer had to say about Jake Paul’s boxing prowess.

Joe Rogan on Jake Paul’s Boxing Talent

It’s almost as if Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s fight was written in the heavens. One year ago, Rogan uploaded a podcast where he discussed how Jake Paul would do against a professional boxer. The UFC commentator had insisted that there was nothing fake about the credentials of Paul’s boxing prowess. He also mentioned Eddie Hearn and his challenge. Rogan said, “The conversation he had with Eddie Hearn where he says ‘I will knock out any one of your guys that has under 10 fights.’ He goes, ‘Whoever you wanna have bring me any guy that you have that’s under the 10 fights’ you can see Eddie Hearn like Sh**.”

He also mentioned just like Tyson did previously, that Paul is being able to defeat fighters who have under 10 fights. Rogan mentioned, “Because those guys under 10 fight, like; what if Jake Paul knocks one of them out?” Rogan was in support of the fact that ‘The Problem Child’ could knock an amateur fighter in boxing. That said, the 25-year-old social media star’s abilities continue to be questioned especially now, when he is going to fight one of the legends.

Rogan himself has recently said that Paul cannot defeat Tyson even if Rogan was in favor of Paul before. When it comes to amateur fighters, he is far more capable rather than fighting legends according to Rogan.

Rogan has vouched for Tyson

Rogan is betting on ‘Iron’ Mike regardless of the 30-year age gap between Tyson and Paul. The $200 million podcaster declared, “I don’t give a f*** if he’s 55 – that’s still Mike Tyson.” He also added that even at the age of 58, Tyson is smashing the mitts during training. Rogan is in complete support of the legend and the things that Tyson will teach Paul.

“I don’t give a f*** if he’s 55 years old, that guy will hurt you. If Jake Paul’s on the other side of the ring and he sees Mike Tyson bobbing and weaving he’s going to have a recognition. He’s going to look over and go, ‘Oh my God, that’s Mike Tyson.’” said Rogan.
