Conor McGregor is a name that’s notoriously known across the combat sports universe. However, he will soon make his face known in Hollywood. The former UFC champion was working with Jake Gyllenhaal in the remake of a classic movie from the 80s. Finally, Gyllenhaal declared that the shoot was complete.

Jake Gyllenhaal is known for his awe-striking work in, Spiderman: Far from Home, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Southpaw, Nightcrawler, and many more. However, his recent work in remaking Road House has taken up the netizen’s attention. 

The shoot of the 80s classic finally comes to an end

Recently, the American actor revealed news about his latest project, Road House. Although a remake of the original from 1989, this version is much awaited by the UFC world. The reason is indeed the starring of the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor. Previously in 2013, a remake was planned with Nick Cassavetes directing and Ronda Rousey starring in the movie. However, it was scrapped. Later, Gyllenhaal took over the responsibility of producing the film, alongside Doug Liman.

The shoot commenced in 2021, and now, Gyllenhaal declared that the shooting has been wrapped. In an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the actor revealed the shoot for Road House was indeed over.

The American actor said, “We finished shooting… We have, actually, we’re shooting a little something… we’re doing some pickups in about a month or so… It really is so fun, though, the movie. We did finish, and the movie’s gonna be so fun…”

The remake of Road House is going to be the debut of the ‘Notorious’ in Hollywood. Earlier, the well-known journalist, Ariel Helwani, tweeted that the former double champion would star in the remake of the classic. Moreover, he also revealed that McGregor would have a leading role.

Furthermore, Karen Kessler’s note was attached to Helwani’s tweet. McGregor’s spokesperson wrote, “Conor McGregor is very excited to expand his storied career to Hollywood and join with Jake Gyllenhaal in this reimagining of “Road House”, a beloved classic. While fighting remains his top focus, this is the beginning of another successful venture in the McGregor empire. He is eager to get started filming.”
