Jake Gyllenhaal certainly turned some heads with the physique he showed up with, in Road House. Retired UFC fighter, Megan Anderson got the opportunity to ask the Roadhouse lead how he managed to get into such a ripped physique at the SXSW. McGregor’s co-star let out his secret to the former UFC fighter.
Gyllenhaal replied to Anderson saying, “I had an incredible trainer. Like I had all the great fun stuff like made it easy like I had a chef and a nutritionist who was helping me and so, you know, we all work very, very hard but it took a village you know.”
The 43-year-old kept the answer short and simple, despite going through some intense workout routines to attain the physique he showed up with. Gyllenhaal’s coach admitted that he made the Road House lead do squats, deadlifts, weight pushups, dips, and other weighted movements for muscle building. This however wasn’t all as he claims to have added elements of sports-specific functionality like working with the sandbag.
