Israel Adesanya took the MMA world by storm when he defeated arch-rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287. This was the fourth encounter between the two athletes but only the first time when Adesanya won. Naturally, the magnitude of the win was huge. Adesanya is now being touted as one of the GOATs. The chances of Pereira getting a rematch look slim after UFC president Dana White hinted that Pereira may move to 205 lbs. Israel Adesanya thus moves into a space where there aren’t a lot of fighters to choose from. Thus fans are skimming through other divisions to find.a suitable match for Adesanya.

A name was suggested by  Dan Hooker and a Twitter handle ‘No Context Ariel Helwani’. Jon Jones against Israel Adesanya is being tipped as a possible fight. While Chael Sonnen didn’t discard the probability while talking to Ariel Helwani, Fans didn’t look too convinced by the idea.

Fans not impressed with Adesanya’s next probable fight

While Dan Hooker looked convinced about the possibility of Israel Adesanya meeting John Jones in the cage, Fans thought the idea was farfetched at least. A user commented,

Henry Cejudo urged Alex Pereira to fight Adesanya again

Although Adesanya denied any chances of a rematch on his end, Double champion Henry Cejudo had urged Alex Pereira to take on Adesanya again and end the rivalry. ‘The Stylebender’ had mocked Alex Pereira’s son after knocking him out and ‘Triple C’ wanted Pereira to act on it. Adesanya and Pereira are tied at 1-1 in the UFC. A deciding fight would have made a lot of sense. It is, however, yet to be seen if the athletes and the promotion see merit in the match-up.

Jon Jones is currently looking in prime form after making quick work of Ciryl Gane. The fight was being touted as one of the biggest of the year but Jon Jones did not let a prime striker like Gane take any advantage.
