Arch-rivals Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira are getting back in the UFC octagon for a rematch on April 8 and the stakes are as high as they get. This fight serves all the reasons for fight fans to tune in. Both the fighters share an incredible history, with the Brazilian leading the scorecard against ‘The Last Stylebender’ with a solid 3-0 in all of their previous encounters. In addition to that Pereira is now the current UFC middleweight champion too and he will be defending his belt against the New Zealander in their fourth encounter at UFC 287.
Having said that, ‘Poatan’ has set his aim clear to make the score 4-0 against Adesanya, which puts the latter under quite some pressure. But the 33-year-old challenger is confident with this rematch and he is entering this octagon this time with a rather new mindset. However, there is still a possibility that history could perhaps repeat itself and Israel Adesanya might just face yet another upset against Alex Pereira.

Many opinions are floating around for this fight, with some favoring Pereira wherein others are optimistically rooting for Adesanya. And recently the UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping weighed in on this highly anticipated fight. He has a rather helpful tip for ‘The Last Stylebender’ to avoid that left hand of the Brazilian that got him knocked out in their last encounter at UFC 281.
Michael Bisping advises Israel Adesanya on avoiding KO
In his latest YouTube video, Michael Bisping analyzed the upcoming rematch between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. While dissecting their last encounter, the UFC Hall of Famer pointed out a critical mistake that the New Zealander made, leading to his knockout loss to Pereira in the final round. Bisping then gave some useful tips to Adesanya to avoid getting KO’d again.
The 44-year-old said, “How does he do that? Well, he does that by not backing up against the fence. That’s what Pereira did in round five. He went forward, he went at him. He was very dangerous, very aggressive with that left hand. It’s the money shot for Pereira.”
He continued, “[Alex Pereira] Backed him [Israel Adesanya] against the fence, and from there, Izzy had nowhere to go, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. And of course, in round 5, you’re getting tired.”
The UFC veteran’s advice could prove to be helpful and make sense, too, as avoiding that left hand of Pereira is a must for Adesanya this time around.
A fourth win for the Brazilian could undoubtedly establish his dominance over Adesanya for good. But the challenger seems to have found a way to turn the tables around this time. If ‘The Last Stylebender’ manages to execute his game plan, it would indeed make for a historic moment. Do you think he can do it? Let us know your prediction on this rematch in the comments below.
