Conor McGregor is preparing to return to the octagon soon. While he is still on the sidelines, he has caused enough chaos for MMA fans to still talk about his previous fights. His fights against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, and Dustin Poirier are evergreen. While McGregor might have lost the fights against them, many monumental things took place before, during, and after those fights.

Fans still can’t stop talking about those bouts. In fact, McGregor too talks about his previous fights and provides his thoughts and new perspectives for fans. In a Tweet, McGregor, once again spoke about his fight against Poirier and gave a new view about his groundwork.

A fan on Twitter requested ‘Notorious’ to work on his ground game. The fighter replied by writing that he was happy with his ground performance against Poirier.

He wrote, “I’m very pleased with my ground attacks from the bottom, at present. I butchered dude from the bottom, use your eyes. He backed away from me! I’ve now developed a more ferocious version to Nates ground game. If Nate goes down, no one follows. They won’t follow me now either. Watch!”

As usual, many Twitter users agreed as well as disagreed with the fighter. Some felt that Poirier had backed away because McGregor was clutching his gloves. During the post-fight interview. Poirier has mentioned that McGregor was pulling his gloves. Hence, many fans were in disagreement with what Conor McGregor wrote.

Even early in his career, McGregor had faced Max Holloway and had won the fight. Holloway has one of the best groundwork in UFC. Thus, defeating him was huge for McGregor.

It seems that the Irish fighter has already worked on his ground game and is happy with it. It would be great to see what changes McGregor brought to his grappling once he gets back in the octagon. He is expected to return in 2022.
