For years, Gordon Ryan has been getting plenty of criticism online for using PEDs. However, recent health issues have forced the five-time ADCC World champion to take a step back from competition. The BJJ GOAT posted an Instagram photo months ago, describing himself as “half dead” in an Instagram story.
Amidst these health issues, the fighter has again taken to Instagram to give an update on his health. A few days back, the BJJ GOAT posted a picture of him revealing his shredded physique, sparking PED accusations again. Some fans have even accused the BBJ star of winning because he is on steroids. Addressing all these accusations, Gordon has provided a much-needed health update.

Addressing accusations of him winning because of steroids and giving health updates, Gordon, on an IG post, said,
“I just did some blood work, a generic panel with some extra tests for my stomach. It’s funny when people say, “You only win because you’re on steroids.” Well, after 2 years of treatment, my candida complex is still 1.8, 2x higher than the acceptable range.”
The BJJ star provided an update regarding his ongoing struggle with candida overgrowth and highlighted that he has been dealing with this condition for 2 years. This health issue has been a major obstacle to his training and competition.

Gordon claims that because of this issue, he is only able to absorb 50% of the food, underscoring that his body is not getting the nutrients it needs to function properly.
The BJJ star said, “I can really only transport and use (absorb) around 50% of the food and test I take in. I’ve been working at less than 50% capacity this whole time. Imagine when I’m actually healthy?
In a recent development, earlier this month, the BJJ star was seen alongside UFC heavyweight Jon Jones, assisting him in his preparations for the upcoming fight against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295. Gordon even compared his partnership with Jon Jones as the new Schwarzenegger-Coleman duo.
