For years, the United States has been synonymous with opportunities, where people from humble origins, thanks to their tenacity and effort, can create their businesses and reap success. From small businesses in cities like New York, we’ve moved on to companies that concentrate their creation around two areas: Silicon Valley and the Boston metropolitan area. But why the United States and not another country like the United Kingdom? Well, the answer has been provided by none other than Joe Rogan!

On the Joe Rogan Experience #2245, the UFC commentator sat down with former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich and talked all about immigration in the United States and its reputation of being the country of opportunities. It is during this conversation that the duo revealed why so many people try to come to America to start a new life rather than the U.K.

So, why is it? That’s because, in America, people have the freedom to choose what they wish to do. The JRE host said, “I have a friend of mine from the UK. When he moved over here, one of the first things he said was that in England, they try to push you down if you try to get ahead. They’ll try to dismiss you. It’s like tall poppy syndrome. They don’t want anybody rising above everybody else. It’s very discouraging.”

On the podcast, Joe Rogan particularly mentioned the qualities that make America the best place to move to for a new start. “There’s not a whole lot of people sneaking into Libya. Everybody loves America. It’s because of personal freedom and because you can be somebody here no matter who you are.” Taking Joe Rogan as the perfect example, Blagojevich chimed in and added that people like Rogan can make an unorthodox career like martial arts into a full-fledged career. He said, “You could be Joe Rogan, a kid who’s 15, getting on public transportation to do kicking and martial arts and become what you are. You can be me.”

The U.S. is a permissive country in terms of skilled migration, so it accepts immigrants with business ideas to settle there. In addition, another advantage of the United States over potential competitors, such as China or Singapore, is its civil liberties. Typically, the most creative people in tech and business are also people who have their own mindset and political ideology. However, it must not be forgotten that the correct way of moving into the U.S. is the legal way. Otherwise, Donald Trump has already handed a million-dollar proposition to Dana White for illegal immigrants.

Donald Trump proposes a new promotion to Dana White

The Republican Donald Trump is known for his strict views on illegal immigration. The President of the United States made it a major part of his election campaign and did not shy away from making controversial statements regarding the topic. During an appearance at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s conference in Washington, the president elect made a shocking revelation. Donald Trump said that he actually asked Dana White to start a UFC-style league with only migrant fighters where they can go one-on-one with UFC fighters and champions.

Does Trump's UFC immigrant league idea highlight opportunity or expose deeper societal issues?

But that’s not all; he also shared the belief that the immigrants might win the fights as well. “I told the UFC’s Dana White, You ought to set up your league of champions, the unbelievable best fighters in the world, and a migrant league. At the end, I want the migrant to go against the champion, and I think the migrant might actually win; that’s how nasty some of these guys are.” Well, this surely would be good news for immigrants who want to make a life in mixed martial arts.

However, for the rest, it was a joke that would’ve made them vote for Kamala Harris instead. After all, this wasn’t the first time the billionaire made such a claim. During an election rally in Pennsylvania, Donald Trump labeled the immigrants as “violent” and yet again proposed a fighting league with them as fighters. He even called it a great business opportunity that would make “a lot of money.” Well, what do you think of these statements? Do you believe they go in contrast with the views of Joe Rogan?
