Alex Pereira has been constantly shaking things up at the UFC ever since he entered. However, is he ready for his next opponent? A modern-day ninja, Jiri Prochazka trains and fights like no other. The fighter has previously defeated Pereira’s coach, so can the student do what the master couldn’t?
Perhaps one or two things could help Pereira’s chances. One was Prochazka fighting for the first time in over a year; the second was a shoulder injury. The fighter is returning after a long time. However, his reign was both brutal and scary when he was around. So it is obvious to question the chances Pereira has against Prochazka. And here’s what a former UFC champion had to say about it all.

Pereira is a Brazilian fighter who’s famous for his accurate striking and stone-cold approach. However, what has been plenty against many fighters may not be enough against his next opponent. Prochazka’s pressure is usually on a whole different level.
The fighter moves around and out-strikes all his opponents. With spinning elbows and perfect punches, Prochazka gets in his opponent’s face before demolishing them. That’s pretty much how he dealt with Glover Teixeira, Pereira’s coach. Will he do the same again? Former two-time bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz had things to say.
“It’s tough to get the shoulder working the way you want,” said Cruz. “But Prochazka with his style that’s really what’s curious about it, the layoff… look at his style it’s so unconventional, so unorthodox. He throws punches from every angle. How will this injury change his style? Will it keep it exactly the same? Look the unconventional techniques… you don’t see stuff like that very often”
Cruz makes an interesting point: Prochazka has made a name for himself for keeping things interesting inside the cage. However, he will be coming back with what Dana White called “the worst shoulder injury in UFC history.” Will this be enough of an angle for Alex Pereira to work on?

The man who beat his coach
Back at UFC 275, Prochazka submitted Glover Teixeira with mere seconds left for the final round to end. And Teixeira is no joke. The former champ lasted well through the rounds, but Prochazka’s pressure finally got to him in the very end. Now, the student sets out to avenge his master.
