Being a UFC commentator, Joe Rogan has witnessed the brutality of the sport for years now. Devastating elbows to the head, knees to the face and more – UFC fighters really put it all on the line when they enter the Octagon in the hopes of securing a victory. MMA is a bloody sport and the whole world knows it.
Famous rapper and Hollywood actor Ice Cube came on The Joe Rogan Experience where he had a discussion about the barbarity of combat sports with the podcast host. Despite being an integral part of one of the biggest promotions of MMA (UFC), Rogan seemed to agree with the rapper on most things he said.

It’s not news that UFC fighters don’t walk out the same after a grueling match in the Octagon. No matter how entertaining it may seem to the audience, what the fighters go through is brutal.

On Ep. #2004 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host and UFC commentator had famous rapper Ice Cube over as a guest and the two were seen exchanging opinions on a number of topics, one of which happened to be how cruel and gritty combat sports can be.
“You know, it’s… its… its the… its the roughest way to make a dollar, in sports.” said Ice Cube, struggling to find the right words. “The roughest!“, replied the UFC commentator in agreement. “And… UFC is taking it to another notch cause… you know, it’s make you kick your mouth open.” continued the rapper. “Kick your jaw open! Knee you in the face… elbow you in the eye socket.” added Rogan, speaking from his pool of gruesome experiences. “Yeah, or just… you know what I mean… you know, pull your shit out of socket. It’s like…” said the rapper before the host interrupted him, saying, “It’s a rough game.“.
“It is. It’s a rough game, you know. Tap out, baby. Tap out.” concluded Ice Cube, finding a way to smile in the middle of the graphic conversation.

Not everyone who is associated indirectly with the UFC is a trained fighter but the same cannot be said for the famous UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan. He is a decorated fighter with belts across multiple disciplines, making him almost as dangerous as a UFC fighter.
Joe Rogan has never professionally competed in MMA and that is why he has a 0-0 record in the sport. However, the UFC commentator did compete in kickboxing and has a standing 2-1 record. If that wasn’t enough to accredit the fighter that Rogan is, the fact that he has 4 Taekwondo championship wins and has a black belt in jiu-jitsu is reason enough for people to take him seriously as a fighter.

As someone who has seen the harsh reality of life, Ice Cube seemed to be rattled by the brutality of UFC – as did the promotion’s own commentator, Joe Rogan. However, it is all in the name of sport and as long as good sportsmanship is maintained and the fighters are well taken care of, there is no reason for anyone to fret.
