Apple vs Android has been a debate over the years for smartphone buffs You wouldn’t be surprised to know that Joe Rogan has spent quite some time talking about it. A few months ago, Rogan said that even though he has an iPhone, he isn’t a fanboy and said Samsung phones are “amazing.” He even tried using a Samsung phone but ran into some problems causing him to stick to the Apple “ecosystem.”
In a conversation with Elon Musk on his podcast episode, Joe Rogan revealed that he really struggled when he decided to switch from Apple to Samsung, two major players in the $539.5 billion smartphone industry. He said that he has made several attempts to break out of the Apple ecosystem as he loved the incredible hardware of the Samsung Galaxy phones. However, he found it hard to get off of iMessage and FaceTime.
“I’ve tried so many times to break loose of the Apple ecosystem. I got an Android phone this summer and was like that’s it, ’cause I love the Samsung phones. The Galaxy, phones they’re incredible. There’s so much good stuff to it. But it’s so hard to get off of the iMessage and the big one for me was FaceTime,” Rogan said on the the JRE episode #2223.

For Rogan, the use of FaceTime became the biggest hindrance when it came to making the switch, especially the part where you try to set up FaceTime between an Android phone and an iPhone.
The UFC commentator said,
“Supposedly the thing was you could have an Apple phone and send a link to FaceTime to an Android phone and then you would click on that link and then you would just go to a web page you’d be able to use FaceTime. It doesn’t work. I tried to do it to myself. So I had an iPhone in one hand and an Android phone in the other. With full Wi-Fi and full phone cell service, I am sending myself invitations for FaceTime. It wasn’t working.”What’s your perspective on:

Speaking with Remi Warren, the host of the “Live Wild” podcast, Rogan said, “I love Samsungs. I talk s**t, but I’m not an Apple fanboy.” Though he joked about the camera not allowing him to take a clear picture of the moon, he said, “They are amazing phones. I’m just really locked into f*****g Apple ecosystem.” For Rogan staying with an iPhone isn’t only about the preference of an operating system, but it has a lot to do with privacy.
Talking to Musk he said, “I f*****g tried. I gave it a go for like a couple of months. I thought I’m going to go straight Android. I’m gonna use Signal for my messages and then I hear they are like Signal might be compromised. Like I’ve talked to like people that like The Government can read signal messages.”
The conversation then turned into a concern for privacy, with Rogan pointing out that it is easy for the government to access people’s data.

Joe Rogan busts the privacy myth for fellow Americans
Joe Rogan revealed a major government activity in the same podcast episode, as the UFC commentator claimed that American citizens have an ‘illusion of privacy’ that’s far from the truth. In reality, all the data lies in the hands of the government. This is a warning specifically for Android users. According to Joe Rogan, the government has the ability to simply breach the signal messaging mechanism in Android operating systems.
The JRE host revealed, “They can read anything. If all they need to do is have your phone number, the illusion of privacy is essentially out the window. And, uh, that should scare people more than it does—it really should. Because it’s like, who are these people that have access to all this stuff? And are they beyond reproach? Are these the most wonderful people, the most ethical, moral, and principled people that have ever existed, and they’ve been chosen to have access? No. No, it’s regular people. Regular people who happen to work for the government that make a decision like, ‘Elon Musk? Let’s look—see what that guy’s texting his friends. Let’s check it out.'”

This was then confirmed by Elon Musk, who claimed that if the government tries hard enough, it can easily access all the messages being shared in the United States.
So what is the solution to the massive breach? According to the duo, the only possible way to escape is to start using a brick phone again. Which, as we all know, is a Herculean task, especially in this age of the internet. So what do you think? What other solutions would you suggest? Let us know in the comments.
