Joe Rogan thinks Weight Cutting is as big a threat as steroids
Starting the discussion about weight cuts, Will Harris put up a piece from his knowledge and quoted, “HBO did a piece on weight-cutting, that the UFC didn’t like, and now their relationship has severed.”
It was evident that the UFC didn’t like anyone criticizing or exposing their weight-cutting practices.
Rogan replied to Harris’ words stating, “I would like to do a piece on weight cutting that the UFC wouldn’t like.” It probably came from the fact that Rogan loathed the ritual of weight cutting before fighting.
He continued, “I don’t like weight cutting.” Taking things one step further, Rogan also said, “I think it’s the worst problem in the sport”. He also pertinently added, “I think it’s right up there with steroids.”
Rogan went on, “I think steroids are barely a problem now, because USADA’s so vigilant.” UFC fighters have always been prone to steroidal problems. But, Rogan appreciated the role of USADA in keeping the sport free from steroids.
Talking about the strict checks of the USADA, he also mentioned, “They woke up Paulo Costa at fu***n’ 6 in the morning.”
