There is a trend that has taken over the UFC and the world of combat sports. Fighters who have retired or walked away from combat sports or the UFC, for that matter, are making returns to the promotion. While some are returning to the UFC, others are signing money-heavy contracts in the world of boxing for ‘crossover’ fights.

UFC legend Georges St-Pierre, had walked away from the UFC back in 2017. This year, he will be coming back to the UFC to participate in UFC Fight Pass Invitational which is scheduled to take place in December. However, there is another legendary UFC fighter who is rumored to be making his UFC return, and that is Ronda Rousey.

Former UFC fighter Ronda Rousey was the first female fighter to get signed to the UFC. However, her career trajectory changed, and she moved to the WWE. Now, there are rumors that suggest that Rousey might be preparing to make her return to MMA – or maybe even to the UFC.

However, it seems UFC president Dana White is not convinced and has said that it is nothing more than just a stupid rumor. In a recent press conference, the UFC president was asked about if the rumors were true. White said that they weren’t. However, the fans are not ready to believe that it is not true.

Legendary UFC official ‘Big’ John McCarthy and former UFC fighter Josh Thompson were recently asked what they thought of the rumors of Rousey’s return to the UFC. “Well, first off you can’t blame Dana for… you know, if that is something that he’s worked on, he doesn’t want to put that out right away in there, you know, so I don’t blame him for dismissing it and not being truthful with it.“, replied McCarthy, standing by White.

He further defended White’s practical move, McCarthy said, “What do you expect? He’s the promoter. He wants to bring it out. If that’s something he’s working on, he wants to bring them out, where it’s going to work best for the sale of that – that show and everything, so…“.

Dana White is a renowned promoter, and he has resorted to drastic measures to ensure that the event is successful and that the hype is maintained. “That means nothing. He’s done that before… you know… wasn’t lying – it’s really not a lie. It’s misinformation, let’s say that.“, he said.
