At the TUF season 31 finale, Brad Katona achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first two-time champion of The Ultimate Fighter. This achievement earned him not only the TUF title, but his coach and training partner, Conor McGregor, also praised the fighter.

Even though McGregor couldn’t attend the UFC 292 event in person, the Irishman closely watched his teammate’s fight. ‘The Notorious’ took to Twitter to share his excitement and praise for Katona’s amazing win in a truly back-and-forth match. Initially, Katona kicked off his TUF 31 journey on Team Chandler, but he eventually swapped over to Team McGregor. Meanwhile, McGregor has given an update on his absence from the event and also lashed out at Dana White’s plan for the TUF 31 finale.

Addressing his absence from the event, ‘Mystic Mac’ shared a series of voice notes on X. While addressing the matter, McGregor didn’t hold back and expressed his frustrations with UFC’s plan for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31 finale.

Reflecting on the event, McGregor began by acknowledging his absence, stating, “So I didn’t show up to last night’s event, obviously you know the ultimate fighter finale somewhat.” The event, which could have marked a crucial moment for the fighters involved, seemed to raise questions in his mind.

McGregor continued and said, “Was it the finale? Where’s the finale?” with his statement hinting at a potential mismatch between his expectations and the actual events that unfolded.

The Irishman revealed, “I asked for a full card of all these contestants because I bet for all of them,” highlighting his genuine interest in these up-and-coming fighters.

“Some great little fighters and I think we were all over the ESPN, we won a card with the lads and I was told that that was going to happen. That didn’t happen and we put it, maybe now it will happen, I’d imagine we’ll do something, something, I’m sure. It’s on tape, you know, word is word,” said McGregor while expressing his frustration.

While the UFC President kept mum on what ‘The Notorious’  expressed, he has given an update on McGregor’s potential return to the UFC against Michael Chandler.

Making an appearance on the Crain & Company show, White shared the potential schedule for the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight. As per White, this potential match-up would highlight a UFC event in early 2024.

This statement from White has erased McGregor’s previous claims of fighting Chandler in December of this year. McGregor even stated that after fighting Chandler, he will fight newly crowned BMF champion Justin Gaethje and complete his trilogy with Nate Diaz.

However, currently, there is no news of McGregor being in the USADA testing pool. The Irishman has to undergo testing for a minimum of six months before appearing in the octagon.
