There is a thing about rivalries, they don’t die easily. They push the involved ones to be better, prepare more, and win everything that is at stake. Most of the time, rivalries are about pride. Israel Adesanya, too, is preparing to win back his pride against Alex Pereira as he prepares for the UFC 287 re-match. This will be their second fight in the UFC and the fourth across sports. The duo had initially met in Glory Kickboxing twice and Pereira had come out as the winner on both occasions. The third time, they faced off in the UFC with Pereira’s victory yet again. However, Adesanya looks more than determined to turn the tables when the two next meet at UFC 287.

‘The Stylebender’ was on a flying horse in his UFC career and had his hands on the middleweight belt before he faced Alex Pereira. In the title defense against ‘Poatan,’ Adesanya looked like he was doing everything right until the last round where an inspired Alex Pereira came out swinging and took the belt. Adesanya now thinks it’s his last chance to win against Pereira.

In a video that has been published on Israel Adesanya’s YouTube channel, he was seen preparing well for the upcoming fight. The video has gathered thousands of views in only a few hours. A question that came Adesanya’s way was if he was going in for this fight with a different mindset.

In response, Adesanya said, “Yeah, I do, actually. I’m one thing I mean that in every sense of the word, the mindset’s different though definitely I mean Eugene and I on the same page. The mindset is definitely different.”

“I like it too, I like it because it puts it all on me and it’s kind of poetic in a way like this is my like I said in one life roll the dice, so it’s my last shot and give it all I got in every sense of the word.”

Israel Adesanya’s fighting prowess is well known. He is a gifted fighter. However, the deciding factor in the rematch will be if Adesanya can wipe off the old memories and give himself a fresh chance.

The YouTube video showed Adesanya’s workout. Fans saw him perfecting his punches and rolling on the mat with sparring partners. Losing consistently against Pereira must have taken a toll on Adesanya mentally, but he looked prepared to turn things in his favor.

Fans will expect that Israel Adesanya can fight off the ghosts of his previous fights and believe in his own capabilities. The war of words started much before the fight.
