Conor McGregor has been part of some of the biggest moments in the history of the UFC. He is one of the biggest MMA stars, after all. However, Daniel Cormier recently stated McGregor’s double championship crowning moment at UFC 205 was the biggest UFC moment at the coveted Madison Square Garden arena. It was one of the Irishman’s biggest paydays as he took home $6,812,374 after his victory.

“At number one it’s Conor McGregor. For me, it was Conor McGregor,” said Daniel Cormier. Furthermore, he also mentioned that it was the first time that the UFC held an event in New York City. The Hall of Famer also recalled hearing numerous stories from that monumental night. Cormier further added, “It was the first time, and I heard stories of New York City on that fight night. It’s never been that again.”

Daniel Cormier also mentioned that UFC 205 was a monumental event. There were so many people that night in New York City that it was hard for others to get out for almost two blocks from the venue. “They said they had two blocks around Madison Square Garden cornered off. They had music blaring as you were walking into the arena,” said the former champion.

‘DC’ stated that UFC 205 was like a celebratory event for the fans. There was music playing all around and people were just filled with too much enthusiasm. “They had DJs, Irish music playing rap music [and] Eddie Alvarez’s music playing. It was crazy,” said the Hall of Famer. He had never experienced something like that before. Cormier even mentioned that the night felt as if it was the Super Bowl.

‘DC’ is certain that UFC 205 was one of the biggest events in the history of the promotion. He claimed that it was nothing short of what fans get to witness at the Super Bowl. Daniel Cormier further stated, “They said it was almost like you’re at one of the biggest events. It’s like when you go to the Super Bowl and everything is happening around you.”

He also turned his attention to Conor McGregor’s performance that night against Eddie Alvarez. ‘The Notorious’ landed some great strikes on his opponent and showcased the strength and accuracy he had in his left hand. “Then Conor McGregor seemed to have the most dynamic left hand of all time. Every time he hit Eddie Alvarez… every time he hit him, he would drop him,” The Hall of Famer added.
