Islam Makhachev and his bout against Alexander Volkanovski has undeniably lifted the adrenaline for mixed martial arts fans. The excitement grows every moment, as the date for UFC 284 shifts closer. Without a doubt, the excitement began from the moment Makhachev defeated Charles Oliveira and challenged the Australian warrior in UFC 280. The aftermath, however, was composed of various personalities revealing their thoughts on the fight and predicting the outcome. The former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, was also one of the fighters who predicted the flow of battle between the two. Recently, Dave Scmulenson, popularly known as ‘The Schmo’ in the UFC world, interviewed Rockhold.
Without a doubt, questions about the upcoming fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov’s disciple and the Australian athlete were directed at Rockhold. Although Rockhold praised both the fighters, his support shifted towards one as he declared the fight was going to be like a man against a child.
Makhachev and Volkanovski, although faced off against each other inside the cage, found themselves squaring off in a Sydney alleyway. UFC has begun hyping up the match as the date moves closer.

Luke Rockhold’s views on the Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski fight
In a recent interview, ‘The Schmo’ asked the former UFC champion about his thoughts on the main event for UFC 284. He asked Rockhold if Volkanovski had a chance against the Dagestani warrior. Furthermore, he questioned whether that would be the greatest upset in UFC history if ‘The Great’ defeated the lightweight champion.
Rockhold replied, “Yeah, it’s like a man versus child. Exactly what me and Jake Paul would be. Like I said, it’s a different kind of strength, a different manhood. Makhachev is a weird, wiry motherf**ker. I don’t know, I mean not my, I mean f**king Volkanovski. So, it’s gonna be hard to get a hold of him. Islam, I have more confidence in him than anybody out there in the game. But, that’s a tough little motherf**ker.”
Without a doubt, the former UFC contender gave his support to the lightweight champion. However, he didn’t back off from lifting up the pound-for-pound number #1, as well. He speculated that Volkanovski would have to keep his distance from Makhachev because the trouble would begin the moment they began wrestling. Furthermore, he predicted that the fight would begin with a lot of striking. The grappling would begin in the later rounds.
The contestants squared off at Sydney
The champions faced off at Sydney prior to their big bout at UFC 284. Although the fighters squared off previously inside the Octagon, the duo did it again and the pictures went viral on social media platforms. The two champions held their belts as they looked each other in the eyes, devising a game plan for victory.
