Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis have been generating quite a lot of friction lately. The two fighters have been going back and forth on the internet. The rivalry between the two took a grave turn when Du Plessis questioned Adesanya being a “real African”. Prior to Du Plessis’ match with Robert Whittaker at UFC 290, the UFC middleweight champion demanded he defeated Whittaker and fought him.

He said, “Well, I think Whittaker is going to win. But African, more African, I don’t know man. There are so many things in the world like, ‘I was there first, I was there after, I’m more, you know, I deserve this more because-‘ it’s, I don’t know man. It’s weird you know, like seeing like some some African super white, it’s kind of weird. But it is like that, because you know, for generations they’ve been there. So, I don’t know. It is what it is, it was funny to watch, and I mean to see it happening. It is what it is.”
