Jon Jones won over the world with his return to the UFC as a heavyweight warrior and took over the mantle of the heavyweight champion by defeating Ciryl Gane. Undeniably, the heavyweight champion inspired a shipload of fighters and fans with his phenomenal skills. The world simply couldn’t stop commending the fighter’s prowess.

The Hollywood star, Michael Jai White also stood in support of ‘Bones’. After declaring Jones as the greatest of all time, Jai White claimed that heavyweights should avoid fighting at all costs unless they know how to defend themselves. He gave the example of Jones for a heavyweight who knows how to strike. However, when it came to a novice heavyweight, the actor was strictly against it. He claimed that the big guys had a “false sense of security”.

Michael Jai White advises ‘big guys’ to avoid getting into fights

Being big indeed hands the opponents a bigger target to strike. Furthermore, with bigger size, comes slower speed, even though the size brings in more strength. Hence, the bigger size makes it harder for the opponent to miss the strikes. The Hollywood legend defended his take well in a recent interview with VLAD TV.

Jai White said, “Big guys, a lot of times, it’s false sense of security. You’re a big a** target. I mean really, you’re a big target. If I’m hitting a big… You can’t get out the way fast enough and it’s going to destroy you once it hits you.”

Thereafter, he gave the example of Jones as a heavyweight who knew how to fight. If one didn’t know how to defend oneself, they should simply avoid getting in a fight. He said, “You know, that’s kind of like when you see this stuff in heavyweight, like when I’m talking about Jon Jones, how is he going to miss that big guy? And when he strikes, he knows how to strike. He knows how to hit hard. So yeah, against somebody who really knows how to fight, big guys should stay away from getting… unless they really know how to block or counter.”
